Drop in
A safe place to meet your friends and make new ones, in a safe and supportive environment. There is one ‘Drop In’ centre based in Hastings (SHEDeLEVEN) and one based in Rosebud (YLounge).

What you’ll find at SHEDeLEVEN is pool tables, air hockey, table soccer, play station or Nintendo Wii projected on to a big screen, computers, art and if you feel like chillin out then we have a couple of lounges where you can sit and listen to some music. YLounge has internet computer access, Nintendo Wii joined up to a plasma screen TV and lounge area.

School Focused Youth Service
Funded by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, this program provides advice and support to local schools in relation to a variety of issues.

The Mornington Peninsula SFYS Local Advisory Group oversees the allocation of $50,000pa in brokerage funding for new innovative projects that comply with the program’s guidelines. The Mornington Peninsula SFYS Program has a coordinator who is able to provide strategic assistance and support to school’s and local agencies in relation to issues of concern.

Referrals
MPYS Youth Workers are able to refer young people to specific professional service providers so that they can get the help and support that they need.

Direct support
MPYS Personal Support Service provides young people aged 10 -25 living within Mornington Peninsula Shire with an opportunity to have a chat with a qualified youth worker regards any issue of concern to them. The service is also able to be extended to other members of their family if and when appropriate. In addition to one to one support the youth workers can also provide advocacy and referral as appropriate in relation to specific services such as Counselling, Drug and Alcohol support, Housing, Employment or Mental Health Services. All personal support is provided in a manner that respects the confidentiality of those involved. The MPYS Personal Support Service is fully funded by Mornington Peninsula Shire.

There are a range options available in order to access the personal support service: centre based, home visits, school based, at your workplace or at a local café.
